Complete Junk- can I give no stars? July 24, 2010 T. Ahearn (Boston, MA) Lens error within 3 months and they say it is not covered. No customer service at all. If you get someone without a thick accent you may be able to sort of get through the process. However look on the web and the same story 100% of the time. Your camera breaks within 6 months you send it to Nikon at your expense and they want $100 to fix a $150.00 camera for a known defect. This Camera is complete junk and Nikon are total thieves. READ THE REVIEWS ONLINE BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING THIS CAMERA.
Grainy and Noisy Indoor Pictures... June 4, 2010 Amazon Lurker (U.S.A.) I am taking into account that this is just a "point and shoot" camera but even so I expect that the majority of my pictures will not come out grainy! In comparison with some of my other friends cameras such as the "Canon Powershot" the Nikon 220 just does not measure up. I have tried to adjust the camera settings, but nothing seems to work in reducing the amount of noise in the pictures.
It is especially prevalent in indoor settings or ones with low lighting. If you have some good natural lighting and you are taking pictures with this camera the woes of its poor quality are not as noticeable.
Anyway if you don't care too much about the quality of your pictures, and you want a "cute" and portable camera... you can save a few bucks and go with this one. I got mine from Costco awhile ago when it was on sale so it came with a case and some other stuff. I regret not wanting to spend a few extra dollars in order to get a better quality camera.
Nikon coolpix April 8, 2010 Rebecca S. Garnault (NEVADA CITY, CA, US) It is a really nifty little camera and the picture quality is excellent, there are also various adjustments that allow creativity in shots. I love the colour!
Nikon S220 for Megan February 10, 2010 Big Mama (Canoga Park, CA USA) I bought this camera for my daughter. She had another Nikon Coolpix S210 and lost it at Disneyland. I wanted to replace it since she uses it all of the time. She says that it is better than the other model and takes great pictures and is very easy to use. Based on her input, I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who loves to take pictures.
great small camera for kids and people with kids February 5, 2010 ReaderMomTeacher (Virginia, USA) We bought one of these for our 10 year old for Christmas. She was immediately able to take very good pictures with it. She also quickly figured out how to use the other features, and enjoys the video capability. The battery holds a charge for a long time, even when using the flash. Video quality is decent, even in indoor lighting. It's not a professional quality camera, but has great quality for the low price and small size. I think I'd like one of these for myself. It's tiny, but takes much better photos than other small cameras we've had (or the camera on my phone). We just ordered one for our 9 year old's birthday. She had a Kodak (can't remember the model#), which was horrible. Half the time it wouldn't even power up properly.
