Excellent Compact Camera March 11, 2010 Alexandria Larsen (Orange County, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an excellent advanced compact camera. I bought this a day before a cruise I took all across Oceania and it worked like a charm. I just have to say that the one day shipping is excellent as well.
The things I'm disappointed with on this camera are:
1. When the camera is zoomed all the way out, it will not focus on anything. What sometimes works is focusing on your subject before zooming out and then once you have it as far out as you like, press the shutter all the way down and not half way down. Sometimes the camera will try to focus again anyways which will lead to nothing being focused on and sometimes this techniques works great.
2. When trying to take pictures at night, the camera won't flash even if I have the flash up. It won't let me change the flash setting either even when the picture mode isn't on night shot.
3. There isn't much going on in the menu. Compared to other simple compact cameras that I have had, this camera has very limited settings to play around with. The most disappointing setting that this camera is without is an option to take a picture is black and white, sepia tone, etc. I've always had that option in other cameras.
For the things I like about this camera:
1. The zoom is incredible. If you have a steady hand and are able to get the camera to focus, you can have great pictures of things you can't or don't want to get close to.
2. I've taken some really cool macro shots with this camera.
This camera is well worth it's price and is a great camera for those who want more power than a simple point and shoot but can't afford a DSLR. I love this camera even with all it's lacking abilities.
ist digital camera March 10, 2010 BJ (Idaho,USA) Being that this is my first digital camera after using a SLR for so many years it is great. I have used others before and I have found that this one is pretty easy to use except for I am still learning about some of the functions. I have found a little work on down loading and printing off of the disc, but over all out of 1 to 5 I would give this camera a 4.
Great Purchase! March 10, 2010 Susan Yale (Hellertown, PA United States) I love this camera. The zoom capability is amazing. I got close up pictures from the back of an auditorium! The pics are clear. The settings are great for the average photographer. Nice camera, easy to sure.
great little camera! March 4, 2010 B. Davola (oklahoma) Great little camera. Good for when you're "on the go" because of it's small size, but easy to hold.
